URINARY INCONTINENCE
......CAN ANYTHING HELP?

Urinary incontinence is simply the loss of control over urine flow, or leaking!

Here are the statistics:

  • 25% of adults between the ages of 25-55 have experienced embarrassing leaking problems at some time.
  • 1-2% of adults leak at night
  • 35 - 40 % of individuals over 65 who live in the community have leaking problems.
  • 10 - 15% of kids 8-16 have night time wetting problems.

The truth is: THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM!  Most of us at-some time in our adult life will experience some form of uncontrolled leaking (incontinence) that interferes with our daily activities and causes us embarrassment!

The idea that there is NOTHING that can be done for this problem is NOT true!  THERE IS AN ANSWER...YOU CAN BE HELPED!

But in order to be helped, someone must know that the problem exists!  Your Doctor is the first one in which to confide.  He will happily refer you to a Therapist at our Clinic who has special training in helping people like you!  At the time of your first appointment, it is important that you share the details of your malady with your health care practitioner so that an appropriate solution can be pursued. Regular compliance with exercises, modification of diet and fluid intake and self care routines will result in successful return to reliable bladder control, in most cases.

Objective assessment of the strength and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles is now easily obtained by using a simple biofeedback device.
