NANCY O. BYRNE, PT Nancy O. Byrne received a BS degree in Physical Therapy from Indiana University in 1961. Since that time, she has been Director of Physical Therapy within Acute Care settings at the following hospitals: Winona Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, North Valley Hospital, Whitefish, MT, Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg, VA and Rappahannock General Hospital, Kilmarnock, VA. She has also been affiliated with the staffs of various Home Health Agencies and Long Term Care Facilities including those located in the Kilmarnock area. She established Carousel Physical Therapy, Inc. in 1994. Her interest in the alleviation of Chronic Pain resulted from continued studies during the last 14 years with the Upledger Institute of West Palm Beach FL involving alternative methods of treatment - Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation and Myofascial Release. She has found that the patient is able to regain pain-free, functional status more quickly when these gentle, non-invasive measures are combined with conventional therapy treatment procedures and modalities, and guidance in nutrition and physical fitness. She is also skilled in the treatment of total joint replacement, Musculoskeletal dysfunctions, Stroke and other neurological conditions, Arthritis, Temporal Mandibular Syndrome, Migraine, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and Sensory Integration techniques which assist LD and ADD children. Her expertise extends to the designing of individual exercises programs including Cardiac conditioning, Pre and Post Natal conditioning and general Fitness programs for all ages - especially the older patient. |
